We are looking for an experienced teacher who would like to take on the role of SENDCo in this successful school.

The Role of SENDCo:

  • To work with the existing SEND team in following policy and procedures across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • To lead and manage provision for pupils with SEND across the school
  • To work closely with staff, families, and external agencies to ensure outstanding support
  • To champion inclusive practice and drive high-quality teaching for all learners
  • To maintain and develop EHCPs, provision maps, and interventions
  • To attend relevant meetings and CPD courses

The role of teacher:

  • To deliver high-quality lessons and model best practice in the classrooms
  • To teach across all phases
  • To plan and adapt lessons to ensure appropriate challenge and engagement for all children
  • To use assessment effectively to inform teaching and track pupil progress
  • To create a positive, nurturing classroom environment where all children feel valued and supported
  • To model outstanding inclusive practice for colleagues across the school
  • To work closely with teaching assistants to ensure effective deployment and impact

The governors are looking for a SENDCo who:

  • Already has the national qualification for SENDCo or is willing to complete the award
  • Is highly motivated with energy, drive and ambition
  • Is an inspirational, committed and innovative leader of learning
  • Has a successful track record in working with children with a wide range of educational needs
  • Is a strategic thinker, able to lead, inspire and motivate both staff and pupils
  • Can demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
  • Can build warm, positive and inclusive relationships with all staff, pupils and parents
  • Is committed to making a difference to the lives and achievements of all pupils at St. Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School.
